Currently working on an Ignition 8.0.16 main gateway, Vision application, with an 8.0.16 Edge Gateway serving as a Remote Tag Provider to the main gateway. Does anyone know if it is possible for the tags/alarms on the Edge gateway to utilize the alarm pipelines on the main gateway?
My understanding is that these tags exist on the Edge gateway, the alarms exist on the Edge gateway, and as such cannot utilize the Alarm Pipelines on the Main Gateway. I did see that Edge supports one-way email notifications, but the customer has configured VOIP alarm notification and is looking to utilize this feature for alarms on the remote tags on the Edge Gateway.
I’m wondering if this architecture will not support what the customer is looking to do. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
