I have two alarms that are stuck on active. These are the alarm configurations:
A few days ago, the alarms were briefly triggered. This is a graph of the data:
The alarm condition was met around 7 pm on Friday. Conditions then went back into spec. However, the alarm is still active and has been since it was initially set off:
I could delete the alarm to get it to go away, but I would really like to get to the root cause here. Any ideas on how to trouble shoot this?
Have you tried acknowleding?
I haven't, but I want to know why it is staying active. I'm not worried about being able to get rid of the alarm, but I want to avoid having to manually prune alarm log.
You have ack mode set to manual, you need to acknowledge. Set this to auto if you don't need the requirement for acknowledgement.
I know that the acknowledgement is set to manual, that's not the issue. The alarm should be in a cleared unacknowledged state, but it's staying active when the conditions aren't met
Oops, I'm on my phone and didn't zoom in enough.
I have heard of alarms getting stuck. I'd contact support to document this and/or search this forum on what others did, I think a gateway restart and deleting a file are the only workarounds that I recall.
I’m having a similar issue. Did you find a way to resolve this?
It’s been a while, but I believe the root issue was that I had changed the tag or alarm name after the alarm had become active. Changing the name back to the original and being in clear conditions should get rid of them.
Ron,
I would recommend making a separate topic for help with your particular problem.
Reviving old topics that were likely many versions of Ignition ago can slow down the speed of getting you help.
