Alert Escalation

Hello All,

I would like to perform escalating alert callouts to my alert contact email list based on time since alert_active. I thought of doing this through the severity group by starting out at 0-Low and climbing to 4-High over a period of time. This would email certain individuals when the alert was a severity 0 and would email the next group if the alert wasn’t acknowledged in a period of time.

Would anyone know if this is possible and/or have a better solution?

Escalation is a primary design requirement of the alerting overhaul scheduled for the upcoming 7.3 release. Right now this will involve a lot of custom work.
