I created an alert tag and then changed the name of it in Ignition version 7.3. The alert was active when I changed the name. Now the system shows an alert with the old name that will not go away.
A workaround was to recreate the alert with the same name and then make sure the alert is not active and then delete the SQL tag.
Renaming should have sent out a “de-register” message, similar to what happens when you delete. It’s possible that something unusual happened, or that the rename isn’t correctly sending it. I’ll look into that.
