Allen-Bradley Logix Driver to Factorytalk LogixEcho on VM

Hi all,
I have Factorytalk LogixEcho on my VM (new emulation software from Rockwell).
I can connect from my VM’s ignition to Logix Echo through Allen-Bradley Logix Driver. but I cannot do so from my host ignition.
I was just wondering if anyone has any workaround it?

I would try configuring your VM with multiple IP addresses and assigning the Echo controller a dedicated IP rather than one that is shared with the VM. Check the Echo manual under IP: Addresses for emulated
controllers

Hi @FreddyR,

  • Can you ping from your host to the ip given to echo in your VM?
  • Have you try to connect with studio 5000 installed on your host to echo in your VM.
  • Witch software are you using to run your VM?
  • Can you send a print screen of your vm network configuration (those are my main support call in my company when someone cannot connect to a PLC  )
  • Do you have disable the firewall of the VM?

Regards

Thanks Paullys50.
I will check that. but not sure if it can make any difference

Hi @Arnaud_Declerck ,
Both host and VM can ping each other. I used bridged and each has a unique IP address.
I dont have Studio 5000 on my host, but I will try to see if RSlinx/FT Linx can see the Echo on VM. I will install it manually.
it is VMWare Workstation v14.
yes. Both firewalls are VM and host are disabled.

Thanks @Paullys50 .
Just to let you know, the solution was not using default loop back IP address, instead I gave it Static IP address. Cheers.
