Apply filter first for large dataset

Hello!

I´ve a few large datasets I would need to aply filters to, they take a while to load into the correspondent table.

I wonder if showing the filter panel first is good idea and then show the table when I click on the filter table.

Would it be possible to load the table with the data onclick event?

If there are some other ideas they are welcome.

  1. How large is "large"?
  2. What does the table show?
  3. Is there ever any time where it would be useful for the user to see all records?
  4. If not, then how many top level groups are there?
  5. Could a Radio Group provide the dataset for default view and selection of other datasets?
