I just hooked up a DL06 with Modbus. It seems to be working ok, I have a few tag quality issues I am looking into (still getting used to ignition).
Is there any benefit of waiting for the native drivers? Is modbus a good way to go?

Modbus certainly is a great way to communicate to these PLCs. The native driver can possibly read/write in a more efficient way. I would continue using the Modbus and if the native one comes out it is easy to switch over.
Yeah modbus is a perfectly good way to go, especially with a DL processor since there aren’t many advanced features like UDTs that a native driver would be able to take advantage of.
Also - your “quality issues” may be due to a problem in 7.1.2 that we’re currently investigating.
