Backup/restore limitations?

I’m working with an older version of Ignition (7.4.4) that is running on a 64-bit linux machine. I did a gateway backup and restored it on a 32-bit windows machine. Now when I go to launch it on the windows machine I get an error message saying “Could not create the Java virtual machine”

It made me remember that I had a similar issue trying to do a gateway restore using Ignition 7.9 windows to linux. Is this just a limitation of the gateway backup restore that it can’t be taken between OS platforms?

Shouldn’t be any limitations like that.

It sounds like the backup you restored had the designer configured to use more memory than the machine you’re launching on can use.

:prayer: That was the exact issue, thanks!
