I am having issues with one of the BACnet devices on my network. Device is a branded JACE8000 - FX80 by Johnson Controls. Working devices are CGE controllers by Johnson Controls. The devices are all on the same subnet with mask 255.255.254.0. Broadcast address set to 10.5.13.254. Network prefix to 24. Bind address 0.0.0.0. IP’s range from 10.5.12.2 to 10.5.12.254.
The weird stuff… I have had this connection working multiple times for months. Initially, it was working on a Windows VM on one server. After 8 months working I had the first issues. I tried going around with Ignition support several times. Finally found it would work on an extra Linux VM I had setup as a test on a local PC (underpowered NUC). I tried moving the VM to another server. No luck. I tried running the Gateway locally on the 2nd server. No luck. I moved the VM from my local PC to the second server. Now it works. Had no issues for months.
3 days ago, we moved the entire network to new switches. In theory everything should work the same. All the connections initially worked. 24-48 hours later the communication failed on the one device - JACE8000/FX80. Since then, I cannot get the connection working. I have attached a screenshot of the wireshark capture.
Keep in mind, I have tried most basic troubleshooting. This is an advanced issue. Devices ping. Wireshark shows some confirmed requests. I can run YABE and other BACnet browsers on the same device as the Ignition Gateway successfully. Ignition is the ONLY thing that refuses to see the device. I have tried multiple configurations with and without a BBMD configured. No luck. I have extended timeouts to 90 seconds. No luck. I have no explanation and need a solution.
