Binding to the result of a SQL server stored prcedure in PMI

Hi,

I like the data centric nature of PMI. I don’t see a way at the moment to bind properties to the results of a stored procedure through (and even better pass parameters in).

Can it be done?

That way my SQL reporting services and PMI can share the same code…

You should be able to bind the result of a straight forward stored procedure like you would with any SQL SELECT statement. Just replace the SELECT template code with something like ‘EXEC StoredProcName param1, param2’

If you need to, you can also execute stored procedures with the fpmi.db.runQuery, fpmi.db.runPrepStmt, and related script functions and bind the result of the script.

In general, you should be able to use the ‘EXEC’ syntax just about anywhere you can use the ‘SELECT’ syntax.

great, that was obvious really. I tested it and works.

Thank you again.
