In Ignition 7 the tag browser rejected folder names containing &.
In Ignition 8 the tag browser allows folders to use this character but system.tag.write* fails because of illegal character.
Is it possible to allow the use of ampersands in tag paths?
I would call this a bug.
Please don't. The more names diverge from language identifier rules the more corner cases will blow up.
Allowing ampersands looks to be an oversight on our part and a ticket has been opened to correct it. In 8.0 you can create a folder with an ampersand but you won’t be able to edit a folder name to include an ampersand in the current release. The intention is for ampersands to not be allowed in Tag Folder names.
