I added a column to a power table but I cannot add a new row to the Column Attribute dataset. I click the add row button but nothing happens and the dataset editor freezes, clicking OK closes the window and does not apply the changes.
Copying it to a dataset on a different window does not let me add a row either. I am able to edit and remove existing rows.
The screenshot below shows the Dataset Viewer after I clicked Add Row twice, scrolled to the right and back, then clicked around where I thought the rows would be. None of the changes save when I click apply.
The graphical bugs indicate some exception is being thrown and hitting the Swing GUI’s main thread. You might be able to find out what that error is from the logs, which might help you work around it. I don’t remember seeing anything like this on more recent versions, so it’s also possible/probable that is a bug that’s we’ve fixed since 7.9.3.

Edit 2: @PGriffith Looks like the first error happens when I click add row (there is no change in the UI and I cannot click on it or anything. The 2nd error pops up if I press OK instead of Cancel.
Well, it’s a known error - unfortunately, not fixed in later 7.9, and we’re not planning to backport the fix whenever it’s done in 8.1.X.
The simplest workaround is probably just to not directly edit the Column Attributes prop yourself - if you right click the power table and choose the ‘Table Customizer’, the CAD should be automatically rebuilt with an entry for each column in your dataset. Then you can further customize the raw dataset if you need to.
I was able to edit one of the rows for a column that only uses default properties and change the name to the column that I needed to be editable. Now I know for next time, thanks for following up
