Running v8.1.27:
When I use find/replace to search open windows I get results, but then changing to all windows instead of only the open windows it finds nothing.
Check your console, you'll most likely see an error in there. I forget what it says, but essentially you've got a corruption in one of your windows. I don't know if you can find out which it failed on from the logs (I couldn't see it anywhere for me), but to narrow it down, I selected half of my windows and used the context menu 'find in selected' (or option to that effect) and searched for something I knew existed in all windows (I think you can search for anything really, as you'll see the progress bar just stop and not get to 100% when it fails) . Use trial and error to gradually select fewer and fewer windows until you end up at the one that is the culprit. It's usually a binding that's corrupted. Simply open the binding and OK it and save. Should fix it.
It would be nice if the find replace tool didn't just stop and not warn you
