Bug - Handling of links to launch programs via URL Protocol

I have observed a change in behavior when launching applications via URL Protocol.

Ignition Gateway: 8.3.6
Client session A: Windows 11, Perspective Workstation 8.3.3, Tab/Window Links 'System Browser'
Client session B: Windows 11, Perspective Workstation 8.3.5, Tab/Window Links 'System Browser'

I have a link object in perspective; url: "myapp:", target: tab. A registry key is configured to launch Myapp when myapp: is called from Run or a web browser.
In session A this launch's myapp with no further prompt.
In session B the webbrowser opens with a blank tab, myapp does not launch.

I have confirmed this functions on the same PC with 8.3.3 then breaks once upgraded to 8.3.5 and 8.3.6

If the link is sent not to open a new tab then it does function but you get a prompt, where as previously if new tab was selected it would just launch
