I am observing that in the Default Security Zone in the Service Security section of the gateway, the History Provider Access is not behaving as expected. If you set the Default Profile Access to “Query and Storage” and set the Access Level of any additional History Providers to “Inheritied”, you are still unable to store data from a remote gateway. If you explicitly set the additional providers to Query and Storage, then they store data as expected. Gateway is on version 8.1.12.
We have always gone in and set each history provider explicitly, but in an effort to save a few clicks when we commission a new remote site, I figured I could set the default access to allow storage and not worry about missing this step. As soon as I did this, all remote sites faulted.
