Can ignition 8.3 communicate with PLC KV7500 and KV8000 Keyence?

Hello everyone

Does anyone know if ignition 8.3 can connect directly to Keyence PLC KV-7500 and KV-8000?

I saw a table with the translate of variable if you use the mitsubishi driver but I dont know if it is possible

Thanks.

It should work with the Mitsubishi driver using the translation table you saw.

The KV-8000 has a built-in OPC UA server option.

Otherwise you can use any other OPC UA server (Kepware, etc...) and then make an OPC UA connection from Ignition to that server.

My EtherNet/IP driver's Generic Client can access the linear address spaces in those devices similar to the MELSEC driver, but without some of the limitations (timer/counter problems in MELSEC, in particular).

Named tag access is not possible (yet).

So, is it enough to just configure the OPC UA on my KV8000 and register the device in Ignition as Mitsubishi to establish the connection?

In the case of the KV7500, since it doesn’t have the OPC UA option, do I necessarily need an intermediary (like Kepware) to be able to communicate it?

No, you'd make an OPC UA connection to it directly, not a connection with the Mitsubishi driver from Ignition's OPC UA server.

This is the case where you could use the Mitsubishi driver instead.

You can also use the Mitsubishi driver for both. Or use Kepware for both.

So then, what should be the correct configuration for the following fields? I know it has to be the Q series, but for the other fields I don’t know the proper way to fill them in.

I don't know, try the defaults.

If that doesn't work get in touch with support, maybe they'll have dealt with this before.

I do know there are customers using the Mitsubishi driver with Keyence devices, but I don't know the details of how they set it up - maybe support will.
