Can you transfer a license across Ignition versions?

Hello,
Is it possible to transfer a license from 7.9 to 8.0 with no issues?

I wanted to confirm before I tried to deactivate on 7.9 and reactivate on the newer version.

Your license may need to be updated to include the new versions and you should verify that this license is eligible for upgrades at all. Talk to your sales rep.
