I have an Ignition gateway installed on a box with both a Wi-Fi connection and a LAN (wired) connection. Due to security restrictions, we cannot have both connections active at the same time.
Similarly, the Gateway machine has two separate IP configurations where the Wi-Fi is on the corporate domain and the wired is on the local control network.
Until recently, I was able to access the gateway either through Wi-Fi (when enabled) or through LAN (when enabled). But now I can only access it from Wi-Fi.
In troubleshooting, I can ping the Ignition machine and the machine to my laptop. So we 'see' each other. But when I supply 'http://:8088 in my browser URL, I get "took too long to respond".
Is there anything in the Gateway I can check or modify to correct this? Anything in the machine firewall I can check?
Hey Roger_Denison,
When you are switching between the Wi-Fi connection and LAN, can you check the Gateway status page to see what the detected nic is reporting? Are you able to establish an outgoing connection to the Gateway that is switching between wireless/wired connection?
I suspect the GAN connection may not resolve if the ip address is switching when you are toggling between the Wi-Fi connection and wired lan.
