Cannot open a Designer and Client at the same time

This morning, I updated to Java 7 Update 25 (build 1.7.0_25-b16). Also this morning, we upgraded to Ignition 7.6.1. Suddenly, I found that I could not open a Designer and Client at the same time. I can open one or the other, but must close the first before I can open the second.

When I attempt to open a second Ignition Client/Designer, I get the following error:

“Error launching application:
JARSigningException: Could not verify signing in resource:
172.28.33.236:80/main/system/jar … client.jar”

For completeness sake, I tried opening two Designers, or two Clients. Both attempts failed with the same error.

I am running Windows 7 Enterprise w/ Service Pack 1.

My coworker appears to be having the same issue.

We use Firefox 17.0.6 to launch the applications initially. Not sure if that affects anything.

This was caused by a build issue with 7.6.1, which has been fixed in 7.6.2-rc4. There is a workaround in this post that can eliminate the issue.
