Can't Login: No application is associated with the specified file for this operation

TIA,
I can't log in to designer launcher. At some point the chrome install was corrupted. Once I realized that I reinstalled Chrome. Now, when I try to launch designer, I'm met with this message instead of the login screen opening in Chrome:
"No application is associated with the specified file for this operation."

How do I associate Chrome as the application to launch for Login and for the "go to gateway" link?

UPDATE:
I went to the default apps in windows settings and set chrome as the default app. It worked. For some reason when chrome was corrupted, the system settings didn't set a default browser.
