So I just installed Ignition for the first time, and when I try to open Designer, nothing happens. It just shows "verifying signatures of designer," but nothing shows up after that. Not really sure why it won't open.

You haven't shared anything about your system or environment, but some possibilities:

You are using an ARM system, like a RPi. Not supported for the designer or for Perspective workstation.

You have an aggressive anti-virus that is blocking access to necessary resources.

You have an aggressive firewall that is blocking access to necessary resources, particularly OCSP responders.
