Can't open Notepad using Perspective Workstation

Hi everyone,

We are currently working on a small project where we want to use Perspective Workstation to fill a form and then open an exe file at the end.

We ran several tests using either system.util.execute, Message Handler and Python Scripting, but Notepad keeps opening on the background without any GUI.

Is there a way to do this on Perspective Workstation? Or is it only possible using Vision?

It’s only possible with Vision.

All scripting in Perspective executes on the Ignition Gateway, not on the “client” side, which is a browser even when wrapped by Perspective Workstation chrome.
