Change an existing opc device's driver?

When setting up a new device, you are able to select the driver. However, for existing devices, there doesn’t seem to be an option to change the driver. I would prefer not to create a new device, as the current one has tag history associated with it? Have I overlooked anything? What are the options in this scenario?

Delete or rename it and create a new one. The only link to tag history is by the name, so just use the same name for the new device.

edit: actually there’s no link at all unless you change the tag name in Ignition. The OPC Item Paths will change if you’re changing driver type but that doesn’t affect tag history.
