Is there a way to change the style of the chart range selector. I do not want triangles, I would prefer the top to be lines like the TImeSeries, and the Time Series chart just zooms in on the selected area.

Yes, the Time Series Chart component has scroll-wheel zoom. Perhaps your other chart component does not.
