Chart Range Selector for Categorical data (non-time)?

Is it possible to use the Chart Range Selector with categorical data? From what I understand it seems to only work with time series?

But basically I have a chart similar to this (XY series chart):

Has a lot of bars representing a bunch of machines and I’d like a way to narrow in on specific areas if possible… was thinking the Chart Range Selector would be perfect but I’m not sure it will work with categorical data.

Unfortunately, no. The Chart Range Selector requires time series data.
