Chart with date on y axis

I want to setup chart with a category axis on the x axis and date on the y axis. can this be done?

Everytime I try i get an error say something like

but when i look at the data set the column is a date and it is displayed as 01/22/2015 16:42

I figured this one out. you need to have the date represented in milliseconds from the epoch in GMT which is 01/01/1970
