On the menubar, I can goto help --> Diagnostics.
This provides me tons of great information.
I hide the menubar to avoid confusion and it takes up real estate on my touchscreens. :unamused:
Is there a way to get that window from a button? This way I can hide the button, unless I log in.

system.nav.openWindow()???

No, unfortunately there is no way to do this. You will only be able to access the client console through the menu bar.
