Cloud installer downloads?

I just noticed on the download pages that there are downloadable installers for Ignition Cloud edition. I had thought the primary point of the cloud edition was that you paid and installed via the AWS or Azure marketplaces and the license was included in that cost. But that means you never should need an installer, since it can't be billed when setup that way.

Why is there an installer available? I must be missing some part of the "cloud edition" concept.

Probably for 3rd party developers like me to test against. (Hmmm, maybe I should...)

These installers are for upgrading Ignition on existing [VM] instances of Ignition Cloud Edition, ref: Upgrading Ignition within Cloud Services | Ignition User Manual.

You're correct that you wouldn't typically use these outside of this use-case.
