I have a MircoLogix 1500 brick that does not have ethernet. I need some help using connection Path for this controller. The examples show PLC's that have IP addresses, but my PLC does not.
What else do you have on the network or other fieldbuses providing a viable path from Ignition to this PLC?
I dont have anything else on network. I am trying to set this PLC up on my desk with Ignition running on laptop. Both PLC and ignition are on my laptop.
You need something like a 1761-NET-ENI module to convert it to ethernet then. There's no serial support.
OK, so if I have other PLCs that are not ethernet I have to convert them to ethernet some how correct?
Yes, likely.
The only driver in Ignition that supports serial is the Modbus RTU driver.

Is your end goal to set something local for testing/learning? If so, there are probably better solutions.
