Connecting Ignition (host) to Matrikon OPC Modbus server (VMware)

Hi.
I have installed ignition in my local host and I want to connect matrikon OPC modbus server and DNP3 that is in my VMware, but it doesn't connect. On matrikon I connect Modsim32 via com thru matrikon OPC da.I have done this things below

  • use ignition OPC classic, enter IP address of my VMware. Not connecting.
  • ping my VMware it's fine.
  • tried to connect modscan (host) then modsim (VMware) through tcp..it's fine.
  • tried to search in forum, not having similar problem.

Any idea to resolve the issue. Thanks

Assuming your networking setup is okay, have you gone through this guide? https://support.inductiveautomation.com/hc/en-us/articles/360047134152-Setting-up-and-troubleshooting-OPC-COM-connections

Is there some reason you're using OPC Classic instead of OPC UA?

Ok I will look on to that link and try.
I'm gonna try using OPC UA in VMware if this really give me pain in the butt.:grinning:

Hi Kevin,
I have done all the steps in the link, but not successful. However some of the steps I can't complete like no1 below.

  1. In server setting I can't select "the interactive user"
  2. After making new OPC da server, It's shows "connecting" and after 1 min "faulted"
