Connecting Ignition to an existing GE Fanuc 90-70 or 90-30 PLC

Does Ignition have a SCADA software package which can connect and provide, graphic animation, data logging, alarming and trending with a GE Fanuc 90-70 or 90-30 PLC?
Access is required through GE SNP/SNP-X as well as SRTP (Ethernet) protocol.
Thank you in advance for your support.

Ignition does not have a native driver for those protocols. It can do everything else you need. Consider pairing it with Kepware.

Hello,

Thank you, Phil, for your reply. Just to be able to gauge the challenges required to complete such a task, do you have any information on:

  • How to setup Ignition to connect to Kepware Server?
  • I take it for granted that, Ignition uses a "Unified Tag Database" or equal. Please let me know if different sections (animation, alarm, trending etc.) require separate or different tag databases.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Kind regards,

  1. Documented.

  2. Unified. Consider using Inductive University (free) to familiarize yourself with Ignition's feature set. It is too much to "summarize" on this forum.

If you cannot prevent your email system from adding such things, do not use email replies. Just reply on the forum itself. You should edit your comment above to clean out the extraneous information.
