I have a siemens s7-1200 connected to ignition but need to connect a real tag onto there but don't know what data type to use as the tag?

The corresponding Ignition tag type is Float.
Make sure you pay attention to the addressing syntax as well: Siemens - Ignition User Manual 8.1 - Ignition Documentation
