Connecting to KepserverEnterprise 5.7.90

Following the instructions here, I’ve been attempting to connect from Ignition to KepServerEnterprise v 5.7.90

I’m using Mint 15 x64 bit (Ubuntu 13.04)
The Java run time is the Oracle Java 6 JRE x64, I also have Oracle Java 7 JRE x64 installed on the system.
The KepServerEnterprise is installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64-bit OS)
The two OS have their times synced.

Here’s the full error message from the connection status page.

com.inductiveautomation.opcua.InternalUAException: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: connect timed out

Any ideas why it doesn’t appear to be working?

Check to make sure the ports Kepware is using are open on the firewall for that machine (usually 49320). You aren’t even successfully opening a TCP connection at this point.

Firewall is completely turned off on both machine.

According to the kepware options, I’m using port 49370 and put that in port settings

I tried adding a brand new endpoint using a different port number. I’m now getting this message

com.inductiveautomation.opcua.InternalUAException: java.net.UnknownHostException: SecPlantFT.scada.ntmwd

A quick search on your site for the new error message lead me to this post

Once I put the IP address in the host override line under “advanced” everything works!
