Considerations for making a vision module in 7.9 soon to be 8.1?

Got the go ahead to learn and work on building a vision component module related to my previous post Rich Text Editor for Vision basically a WYSIWYG editor.

The current Ignition version is 7.9.21 but I know they have a 8 license, I don't know when they plan to upgrade but it is possible. I am looking to see if there are any considerations to have to "future proof" what I make, or if 8 will break things such that I should recommend they upgrade their Ignition before I can reasonably make this lest I have to do a big rework after upgrade. @pturmel I imagine you would have some input on this.

Vision component stuff probably won't break, but everything else will.

But aside from that, if they have a v8.1 license, they are playing with fire staying on v7.9.

Yea good point. I'm trying to push them to upgrade. Makes no sense not to especially considering they already bought the license.

Also better for me since all the SDK tutorials assume 8.0+
