Contract work available

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for someone with solid Ignition experience to help with some contract work focused purely on UDT creation.

Scope (intentionally narrow):

  • Designing clean, reusable UDTs

  • Strong use of parameters, inheritance, and naming standards

  • No UI work, scripting, or gateway configuration — UDTs only

Required experience:

  • Industrial protocols: Modbus, DNP3, and SNMP

  • Strong understanding of how protocol data maps into Ignition UDTs

Preferred (but not required):

  • Background in electrical engineering

  • Experience with substations and renewable energy systems (solar, wind, BESS, etc.)

This is paid contract work with flexible timing. The work can be done independently and on your own schedule. We’ve built an internal UDT creation tool to streamline the process and are looking for some extra help to work through an extensive set of device manuals (approximately 30).

If you’re interested (or know someone who might be), please reply here or send me a DM with a brief overview of your experience.

Thanks!

Hi Craig,

This looks like an interesting project. I work with Ignition regularly and UDT design with proper parameterization and inheritance is a core part of what I do.

I am also well versed in Modbus, DNP3, and SNMP protocol mapping which seems pretty central to this scope.

Happy to discuss further if you want to connect.
