Copy and paste Transaction Group Items

I created a TG with 17 tags for one part of our machine. We have 19 parts that utilize the same tags, but with one difference: the identifying characters for each part are numbered from 01 to 19.

So, I copied group 01 several times, renamed the tags from 01 to 02, 03 and so forth.

But, they all, without fail, read values from group 01! Does anyone know why? Even the target names have changed to reflect the renamed tag.

Ok, for instance create TG group 01, with tag [default]/Process/Valve01.value, [default]/Process/Valve01.name.

Copy that group 10 times, rename Item Name from Valve01 to 02 and so on. Even the Target Name changes to the renamed Item Name. All the TGs output the same value and name as Valve01.

Any thoughts as to why this happens?

When you say the target names have changed, are you looking at the transaction group table or the edit group tag popup?

If the transaction group table, what version of Ignition are you running?

There were some visual issues on 8.1.39 (possibly earlier versions too) through 8.1.42, that caused the transaction group table to display the item name in the target name column. If you open up the edit group tag popup, you can see the actual target it is pointing to. If this issue is what you are seeing, it was fixed in version 8.1.43.

I am editing the tag names in this spot. I change item name, and target name updates to the same.

So, the displayed target name in the list of tags/items is supposed to be coming from the selected target in the popup?

Oh, the popup is just fine - those targets are DB field names, for the most part. Though there is an issue with that as, the target name drop down won't filter as we type... minor inconvenience.
