Couple Questions on the Ignition Tag History

Sorry couldn't find a clear answer to these questions I had on the Tag History Option. I'd like to get some more information on it as well as what people use it for or do they use a purpose built table and data structure for tag history?

How long does it store the history of the tag? Can this be changed, say store a tag for a week or a month?

Can you change how it generates the tables? Maybe the naming schema?

As long as you tell it to. See pruning, Tag History Providers | Ignition User Manual

Yes, but it's not based per tag, but per history provider.
