Creating / Connecting tags in a S7-1200 Siemens PLC

Hello, Just starting out w/ Ignition. Is there a specific format for the tag path when connecting to a
siemens s7-1200 that may be different from a s7-300?

There shouldn’t be. Are you running into problems addressing certain tags?

Yes, tags not being displayed in OPC browser. Do I need to bring the tags into the SQLServer 1st?

Siemens tags don’t show up in the OPC browser; they need to be addressed by hand in SQLTags. Most people speed this up by defining them in a CSV file in the SQLTags format and importing them.
