Hello Ignition folks!
I hope all is well
I am still following the EXCELLENT training provided by the ignition, but I really faced a problem that I could not progress any further, feel stucked!
I have created a template i.e for tank, when I wanted to drag and drop it into a main menu (called Tank overview), soon I choose the Tank template, the main menu vanishes- my question how can choose the specific template, and keep the main menu page (tanks overview) open so I can drag into it?
thank you so much in Advance
Edit: partially Solved, with UDT, I should have dragged the instance of the UDT from tag browser
but what if I do not have UDT, how can drag and drop a template into my main view
This happens to me when I'm editing a template and the window I want to add the template to at the same time.
At the bottom of the designer, there are tabs that show the various windows and templates that are actively being edited. All you have to do is drag the template down to the tab of the window you wish to drop it in, and hover there for a moment. The tab will then switch back to the window, and you can drop the template wherever you wish within the window.
Alternatively, you can close the template's tab, and the problem of it automatically switching tabs will stop happening.

both ways work out. can't thank you enough - highly appreciated.
Do not you think it is a quite strange so behavior of ignition Scada, I wonder?
Once again, thank you so very much . Now am proceeding with the training

Perhaps, but when a window or template is being edited, selecting a component name in the project browser also selects the actual component in the editor [and visa versa], so I can understand why bringing the correct tab into focus is needed.
