Database connection faulted

Trying to add a connection to a new test database. To my knowledge, everything is added correctly. The jdbc:mysql://host:port/database part is correct. The username and password are correct. Somehow it is still faulting and giving me this error:

7.9.9 (b2018081621)
Oracle Corporation 1.8.0_171

Try either a: upgrading your JDBC driver with the latest MySQL JDBC driver, or b: starting from a “clean” install of 7.9.9 (don’t restore a .gwbk onto it) and verify if you can get a connection.
