Has anyone else had issues getting derived themes such as dark-cool to work on ignition8.3 and macOS?
I suspect it is to do with the themes folder not being in the expected path.
The documentation mentions folder:
%IgnitionInstallationDirectory%\data\config\resources\core\com.inductiveautomation.perspective\themes
However the system automatically created folder:
%IgnitionInstallationDirectory%\data\config\resources\core\Ignition Themes
This looks like a bug to me.
Not a bug, but a change in architecture. The system-supplied themes are now immutable resources fed directly to the browser. There are other discussions of this on the forum.
Light and dark are immutable, but warm and cool options should be accessible.
Thanks for jumping in prumel.
Not questioning the base themes. I'm aware of those being immutable resources.
The issue is with the derived themes, in other words the cool and warm variants, which aren't working and don't seem to be in the right place in macOS.
You got my point Andrew. Any idea why this is happening?
No idea, but I would try moving them to the correct folder, scanning the gateway, and seeing if they work. You can also check which themes you have under Gateway > Platform > Overview.
Manually creating the folders, scaning the files system and rebooting the computer solved the issue.
Thanks all for the assistance!
It is still better to file a bug ticket to address why you missed those folders in the first place.
