Cool! after copying the folders, gtk-launch worked for me too. Thank you.
I'm just curious if there is any way to make the GUI work too....
I noticed that too. Sorry I'm trying Ignition after 6 years so a little rusty ...
Ignition is only tested as compatible with 20.04 you (we) are on our own unchartered territory.
If this is for R&D, can you roll back the workstation?
The below likely doesn't help solve any issues in this thread. Perhaps it does allude to some level of 'tested as compatible with 22.04'. From 8.1.33 release notes:
"Updated OCI container image base from Ubuntu 20.04 LTS to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS"
Perhaps their website needs an update then, my above screenshot is from the footer of the main site.
The container image is a gateway, and only a gateway. I don't know what distros and versions are tested for launchers and for Perspective Workstation, but keep in mind that the JxBrowser project tests against Ubuntu 20.04.
I intend to upgrade my primary workstation from 20.04 to 22.04 soon, but it is Kubuntu, and therefore KDE Plasma-based, not the Gnome-based plain Ubuntu. (The crap where desktop files don't work properly is a Gnome "innovation". I'm less than impressed.)
I have been building our new PCs with Edge with Kubuntu 22.04 (gateway and vision client on same PC) without issues. I think I saw a post by you before praising Kubuntu 20.04 so I jumped to it, then tested Kubuntu 22.04 a few months ago with it and have switched to it. Much less headache than Ubuntu was.
