Device for email notifications?

So for alarm notifications, I have been able to use devices like Grandstream for voice notifications (VOIP or analog) and Sierra Wireless for SMS notifications. Does any device exist to interact with for email notifications? For example, say you have a remote site currently with no internet, but it has an Edge gateway. You want to send out simple email notifications. What would you do to send out email notifications?

Cellular modem to cloud-based email provider?

You can (at least from my iPhone and Android phones) "text" an email address. The iPhone (Verizon) sends the text as an attachment, the Android (Google Fi) sends it as a plain old email...

I was considering something like this. However, I'm concerned about the availability of the service. Aren't both AT&T and Verizon phasing out their email to text (and text to email) services?

You're going to spend gobs of engineering $$ on creative solutions, when you should just get a cell modem and data plan. :man_shrugging:

(If you can't get reliable cell service, consider Starlink. I have three, and they are freaking awesome.)

I know they’re all phasing out email to text… not sure about text to email.

Cloud based email provider.

I wont name the SMTP service I use (as it may violate forum rules?), but they offer a free plan to get you up and running. I can send up to 10,000 emails per month and it works out to be $100 a year on an annual plan. I have 25 sites with different branded HMI's using it. You can set quotas and subdivide by site name or customer, etc. They also support encryption, two-way ack, unsubscribe, the whole shebang. Its awesome. Been using them for well over ten years.

I also use them for SMS. I have a private "phone number" that I send from, so my customers know its my company. ($5 a month) and the per-text fees are $0.002 in the USA.

Obviously, you will need any method to access the internet to send alarms.
