Docked Window North Changing sizes

I have a window docked north and another window docked west. when i resize the window docked west the window docked north seems to resize or reposition it self when i open or close windows. this wouldn’t be a problem but it is causing my components in the the north window to move and i cannot figure out how far i need to move the components because the left side of the docked north window keeps changing.

is there a way to stop the docked north window from resizing or moving its left side when i reisize the docked west window?

No, but you can change the components layout in the docked north window to use anchored layout. Typically, you anchor the components to the top and left.
