Not sure where to post / outlet this, but the docs seem to be missing the system.dataset.filter function 
Can anyone give me a steer of where to send / outlet this info?

I don't think there's a system.dataset.filter.
Are you thinking of filterColumns ?
Supposedly it does exist according to the type hinting!
...and would be very useful for my current task

Esit: Yes it is, hence won't be in the user manual Ignition Extensions - Convenience utilities for advanced users
