Edge Installation Troubles

Good morning. I am attempting to install Ignition Edge on a laptop that has never had Ignition installed on it. I’m following the instructions from the manual - https://docs.inductiveautomation.com/display/DOC80/Installing+Edge

After downloading and unzipping the files, I double-click install-ignition.bat. Regardless of whether I double-click it or load it from the cmd (running at the Adminstrator level) it always freezes at the following, and nothing further happens:

For kicks and grins, double-clicking on start-ignition.bat gives the exact same response.

Wrapper log contents contents below (interestingly enough, I’ve recently started getting the exact same error on a separate company laptop running Ignition Gateway 8.0: “Unable to execute Java command. The system cannot find the file specified. (0x2)”).

Any thoughts on what I’m missing? Not sure what direction to head next here.

Thanks!

I have some more information, as the forum helped solve a similar problem on the other laptop. For the Ignition 8.0 laptop, the folder jre-win in (installation folder)/lib/runtime was missing, and I had to re-unzip it. This fixed the problem on that end.

Trying the same fix on this end doesn’t help, though. I manually unzipped the jre-win folder, but the first thing the Edge installer does is delete the new folder, and attempt to unzip again. At this point, it freezes the installation. Any thoughts on how to prevent this step in the installation?

try copying the additional version file into the unzipped jre-X directory as well.

That did it. Thank for the help.
