Yeah, I was hoping to see what "Ignition in a nutchel" was.

Probably this setting. I recently changed it, because the scenario of "someone post something they don't want, edits it, but it's still visible" was occurring more frequently than the scenario of "someone posts something useful, then edits it out for inscrutable reasons".
There doesn't appear to be a way to make the edit history permission more granular - it's literally everyone, or only staff. Only staff feels safer.

I had contemplating asking this in the lounge a few days ago. FWIW, it is still possible to see edit history on your own posts.

Now that I've been subjected to a few days of repeat notifications for topics and comments that I've seen but have been edited, I'm more than a little bit annoyed.
If I don't remember the details, I can't tell if the edit is something I should respond to.
Not happy.
Please change this back.

It would be pretty annoying to not see it. People who post stupid things like passwords or license keys can just ask an admin to hide the edit history.
