Has anyone ever done anything with Honeywell E-mon energy meter EZ-7 protocol? We have a bunch of these meters in our plant and I would like to tie them to Ignition but the only protocol they use is their EZ-7. I can't find any documentation for it anywhere, I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried playing with it before?
It looks like honeywell makes an interval data recorder that can read using that protocol and also has ethernet connectivity via modbus.
Page 13/14 of the installation manual for it shows modbus register mapping.
Honeywell's verbage/documentation seems to be a bit lacking.
Yeah, those are the newer style. We have a couple of those and I am able to get the data out of those via Modbus/TCP. The older style only offers the EZ-7 protocol, you can't change it to Modbus.
We will probably just have to change out the older style with the newer style. Thanks!
