What are some options available to me for techniques to add visual effects to really high stats when operators or machines are doing really well?
I was doing a boxShadow glow effect in some cases already.
It doesn't work well with the progress bar though, as the ends are curved, and the boxShadow is square.
I believe the High Performance HMI guidelines recommend using color for emphasis and to get operator's attention. The effect may be lessened or minimized if you already have a ton of color vs having components be grayscale unless there is a fault or, like you're saying, you need to attract attention to a certain component on the screen.
