Error: listing all available security levels

I have been getting this strange error for the last three days. This has never happened before in the past.

Steps I take working on UDTs on my localhost to practice/make scrips on:

  1. I delete the old UDT Definitions and instances
  2. When I add the UDTs back I get the Listing all available Security Levels" and a Time out Message
  3. I can no longer work on anything, and the web browser stops working as well giving me a 500 status code error

Steps to fix:

  1. Shut down all programs and restart my computer.
  2. If I just quit ignition designer before restarting my computer, and try to sign in via web or open or the designer it will keep giving me the same error.

Side Note: I took off all security I had put on for the Ignition Core test, and personal work projects, and it did not help.

Here is a screen show of the message and error I get. Has anyone delt with this before?

Go look in your gateway log for errors that might have prevented the gateway from responding.

After I recreate this error I can no longer access the gateway. I either get one of two error. "internal error" or error status 500.

That said I did copy past the output console log on the designers:

Here is a picture of my gate way, and I will now have to completely restart my computer to get the web browser/designer to work:

You need to look in the wrapper log of the gateway. Everything else that's happening is a symptom of some root cause.

If you're not sure what to look for, I would encourage you to contact support.

Then you will need to look at the wrapper.log file directly in the gateway. The designer console log is of no further use--it simply indicates that the error is in the gateway.

Hey all. Thank you for helping with this. After talking with support and having a remote call we found out the problem. I was deleting to many tags at once, which has a lot of configurations, and it was overloading the "IDB" if I said that correctly.

So I just went in and did a few at a time and everything works fine with no additional errors.

EDIT- Breakdown summary email resolution:

Here are the notes from our call today:

Problem:
•	When you delete an UDT definition your Gateway and the designer would crash.

Assessment:
•	You had a folder that had a UDT and many child tags associated with it.
•	We tried deleting a UDT and we did not see any errors or gateway crash.
•	When we tried to delete the UDT named compressor that had over 300 child tags, we saw the designer throwing errors but the Gateway did not crash.
•	We took a look at the wrapper logs and saw this error: The following stack successfully received a connection. A new attempt was blocked for over 30000 ms.
•	We saw a lot of at com.inductiveautomation.ignition.gateway.localdb.sqlite.SingleConnectionDatasource.getConnection(SingleConnectionDatasource.java:58 errors and this refers to the IDB file.

Resolution:
•	It seems that when you delete the UDT definitions, you are deleting way too many tags which locks up the IDB.
•	That is also why you are seeing the Error 500 on the Gateway Status page.
•	If you would like to delete those tags then I recommend doing it in smaller batches so the IDB doesn't lock up.
